Dear all,

Welcome to ETB annual competition, each year we organize a competition for all students who are interested in engineering fields. The competition includes students from all of our schools in Dubai.

Last years competition was a great success and many of our student's stun everyone with their performance. The goal for last competition was to build a bridge that will connect between stands 40 cm apart. Before we start with this year's competition, we would like to share some pictures from last years' competition.

The winner of the competition was our youngest students who was able to build a bridge that didn't only carry the heaviest weight, he managed to build a bridge that we couldn't break!

This year our competition is called “Team Family” each student can join one of his family members to help them build the project. We believe that education doesn't end at school. Families play a very important rule in developing the students' abilities, skills and self esteem.

With this thought in mind we designed this year's competition to be a fun and educational time for the entire family. All the details about the competition, project instructions and registration can be found in the PDF file attached below.

Instructions

We would like to share with you the experience of the previous competition. The competition was about building paper stand out of A4 paper and tape only, which had to fit the dimensions:

Length: 40-50 cm

Width: 30-35 cm

Height: 30-40 cm

Weight< 600 gms

The stand should carry at least 25 KG!!

The challenge was quite hard and the job wasn’t easy, but most of the students accomplished great results. The winning team built a stand that was able to carry one of them!!! The stand carried a total weight of 40kgs and was only made out of A4 papers!!
